Loch Lomond Saturday

A visit to Scotland would not be complete without a visit to Loch Lomond. Partly famous for the song: By yon bonnie banks and by yon bonnie braes.......

On this lovely autumn day, we were amazed at the beauty. Here are a few of the photos we took.

Doug had been suffering from the cold, since we set out. He decided that a hill climb would help to get the blood circulating, so we looked for a 'ben' of our size. This one will do nicely!

We just needed to climb the fence then up we'd go. We don't have a photo of me climbing the fence but you do have it now on record that it is the last fence that I am ever going to climb. As soon as I alighted I saw the evidence that a very large Scottish horned beastie had passed that way fairly recently so back over the fence I went at speed!

We found a lesser 'ben' that served us just as well just down the road.

This wee robin decided to visit us. (We speak a wee bit of Scottish noo).

On the way home we passed these wind generators in the hills and had a closer look at the monument to William Wallace. It is in the distance in the Stirling Castle photos from yesterday.
