Monday we travelled to Truro on some more stressful one-way country lanes also used by tractors and trucks. We have found not to use Gertrude the GPS' advice if the road does not have a number.
Truro has a museum and a family history centre that hold lots of records and microfilms of parish records. We spent a few hours just on the birth records of St Stephen-In-Brannel and wrote down all the Trudgian, Watts, Parkin, Oliver, Olver, Pearce births between 1694 and 1801 filling 6 A4 pages! We will put this list on the Internet when we get back. We are heading back on Wednesday to the family history centre having spotted 4 large collections of paperwork on the Trudgians.
