Devon & Cornwall
We caught the 07:20 train from Waterloo to Exeter and had a very comfortable trip in a fast train, via Southampton and Salisbury. Doug had arranged tickets to Pinhoe Station, on the outskirts of Exeter, close to the airport and the rental car company. Unfortunately it was deserted, but a call to the rental car company had a taxi out to rescue us. We picked up our Peugeot diesel 4 door and went shopping at Sainsburys.
We managed to get Gertrude (the GPS) to understand that we were not in NZ anymore, and she took us on a merry trail for miles on a narrow road with hedges both side and hardly any passing places on our way to the cottage near Bridford.
It's very beautiful, way out in the country and a huge change from Earls Court. The mobile Internet is not working, so emails and updates will be done when we are out and about.
Now it's Sunday and we are in Teignmouth for a coffee and have a 3G internet connection. We will put some more up tomorrow.
