Another art lesson! Graham Braddock sent his off-sider to teach us about colour. We only used the primary colours to create our masterpieces.

Goodbye Model A

Off goes the Model A to its new home in England. Teddy wanted to ride on the trailer but was not allowed as there is no seatbelt.

Parts of a 1914 Douglas motorbike are attached, we think Teddy's Grandad was named after one of these, maybe even this one!

Teddy helps around the house

Teddy helps out while he is waiting to fly to Bendigo. Today he gathered up feijoas.

He explained to Abby how to do it and be a really helpful cat, but Abby said "that's not a cat's job". Abby tried hard to think up what a cat's job actually was.

Otorohanga Kiwi House & Bird Park

Nice weather today, and a trip in the MX5 with the top down to see the birdlife at Otorohanga Kiwi House.

The trip took us past Mt Pirongia. It has peaks from several eruptions 2.5 million years ago.

The grey-spotted kiwi was walking around, but it was too dark for a picture without a flash.

A Morepork, and an Oystercatcher.

Some very interesting ducks and Paradise Ducks.

Keas, up close.

A Black stilt, Oystercatcher behind, and a Shore Plover.

Teddy goes to Glenbrook

Teddy is missing Thomas the Tank Engine and asked to see some steam trains.

He waited and waited, and had a look in some cream cans.

The train arrived!

Teddy liked the Milburn Cement because his second name is Milburn.

New Car 1996 1800 motor

Here she is - she arrived on a car transporter last night. I've had a couple of jaunts around the block. She seems reasonably docile provided you don't put your foot down too hard when you take off.

We have only used it with the hard top up so far - haven't tried the soft top yet. We will go for a longer ride tomorrow.

Christmas get-together (on Boxing Day)

Boxing Day with the family.
Hi! Robert, Jenny, Stacey, Caleb, along with Nana, Alison, Stephen, Charlotte and Alex joined us to enjoy Christmas dinner and a catch up.

It was good to have David home from Wellington.

Caleb kept big sister Stacey busy as he plodded around the garden, up and down steps; finding things of interest.

Rob keeping an eye on things.

Charlotte and Alex enjoyed a spot of gardening!

Mum and Dad were kept busy.

A visit to see my duck

My duck is looking very fine, spring must be around the corner.

He really liked the look of a bit of bread, one big chomp and burp!

This duck looks a bit like a relative, I wonder if he was one of last year's ducklings.

Two nights in Taupo

We stayed 2 nights in the Beech Tree Motel (free broadband!). The trip down on Friday was for Doug to run the Orchid Special in the Capri Car Club sprints on the Saturday. Unfortunately it was a wet day and not a lot of fun was had, being wet and cold. No damage done.

Sunday we took a walk after breakfast down to the lakefront where there were sleepy ducks. There had been a fall of snow on Mt Ruapehu.

This duck had a very long shadow for a bird with duck's disease!

Main St, Taupo, on a Sunday morning. You could shoot a rifle up the main street! The only bad thing was that I found was a shop that I'd missed on my Saturday 'in town' with Miriam. :-(
